It's simple, fun and a great way to connect with friends and family.
Hosting a gathering of friends and family of some sort is a wonderful way to get discounts on all the media you need transferred and digitized.
It's as easy as 1,2,3!
1. Pick a date, time and place.
Where and when is most convenient for you? Many factors can be considered and here are a few ideas:
Open your home in the morning for coffee morning. Offer your guests beagles and coffee.
Host a light lunch. Offer your guests soup and salad or tell them to brown bag it and supply drinks and a dessert.
Host an evening show. You can get as simple or as elaborate as you want. Theme evenings are fun. For example: A Wine and Cheese night, a Wedding memories night, where your guests wear or bring something from their wedding along with their wedding video or photo album. Keep it simple and offer soft drinks and few nibbles.
Host during lunch time at work. This is a great way to fit in a show and reach out to coworkers who need our services.
Meet for coffee. Most coffee houses have lovely seating areas and a perfect for you to gather a smaller more intimate number of friends.
2. Invite, Invite, invite!
Not just your immediate circle of friends, but think about all the people out there that have media stored away gradually degrading. Think about inviting your family, neighbors, people from your gym class or boot camp, your hairdresser or dentist! You'll be amazed at the response you will get. Use my sample invite or create your own. Use evite.com or simple email. But always follow up with a reminder the day or two before your event to maximize attendance and remind your guests to bring tapes and albums with them.
3. Host and Close
Once you have your gathering set, sit back and let me explain our mission, what we do and how we do it. I will not drone on for an hour and boar your guests to death. I keep it short and sweet and then take questions. I like my presentations to be really interactive and fun. Some guests will have remembered to bring items with them that they want transferring and other will not. For those that have not, we will give them a gathering bag and set up a date for them to come back and drop off the items they would like to have done. I will enter all the orders and let you know how much you have earned in host benefits which can be as much at 30% off!
